Psalm 90:17

Back to this verse:

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;
And confirm for us the work of our hands;
Yes, confirm the work of our hands.

Isn't it interesting that this verse repeats itself. I wonder why that is. Sometimes we need to say things more than once to get our point across to our children; maybe that is why this is repeated. It is giving us the assurance that if when we apply ourselves to loving and serving God that we WILL be confirmed of our work. We will know that what we are doing in this life is exactly what God wants us to be doing.
Everyday the laundry and the dirty dishes are staring at me and I have to remind myself that yes "confirm the work of my hands." I recognize that the Lord has givin me this wonderful family and that this is the work that comes with it. I need to be aware of my attitude toward my work daily. Making sure that my hands are acting just as the Lord would want; your hands will reflect all that is going on your heart. Pretty interesting to think about; and scary.
Think back over the past couple of days how many times you use your hands. To cook, clean, grasp your children, heal a boo boo, go to the store, protect your kids from crossing the street... the list goes on and on. Did your hands reflect that of a person loving and pursing Christ or was it the opposite? Were you dragging your child across the parking lot because they were not behaving, where you slamming your dishes around or not even doing them at all, were you carrying shopping bags instead of grocery bags knowing that your money is not being spend wisely.
Let the Lord confirm the work of your hands; that means first loving your God and having the desire to let go and give Him your life; let go and give Him your life.
