The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7

So the word is where we turn to gain our wisdom. It is through scripture that God speaks to us and teaches us. You are a fool when you turn from the Lords teachings and try to figure things out on your own.

Even so that when we don't take advice from others that we may be a fool at times. It is easy to go around thinking that we are the ones that are always right about things and forget what other people have to offer. A good application for this is being a mom. Sometimes we think that everything we do is the right way and the only way. And when someone offers advice to us, we turn our heads and think to ourselves, mind your own business.

God tells us that we are fools to not listen and consider what others are telling us. Regardless on if you decide to change your ways, the least you can do is listen and be appreciative.

And remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. It is first that we must believe in Him in order to gain knowledge and have your heart in the right place.
